First, I would like to thank Eli, Dr. Chiang, and Dr. Sheth. They made the entire process easy and enjoyable. If I had any questions or concerns, they would answer me with confidence. If you are looking to get LASIK or any optometry work, I would definitely recommend this institution. No matter what situation you have, they will try their best to be flexible and accommodate you.

My experience pre-op, op, and post-op never changed. Everyone was friendly and professional. My vision changed and improved exponentially from where I was prior to lasik. Now, post-op (1 week), I am at 20/15 and happy that I decided to get lasik.

I have been going to the team at Sheth Horsley eye center for many years now. I have complicated issues with my eyes that Dr. Sheth has helped me navigate through and has been an extremely knowledgeable, caring eye professional. Additionally, his wife, Dr. Sonya Sheth, handles lens fittings. Again, mine are complicated, yet she patiently worked with me to get the exact fit to maximize my vision and comfort. She also went above and beyond helping me understand my best insurance options and has gone above with followup on my visits to be sure my vision is 100% and I am happy. I highly recommend this office.

Fantastic experience with Dr Sheth and Sheth-Horsley Eye Center. Dr Sheth is wonderful and I knew I was in good hands. I was able to see without contacts or glasses a few hours after my surgery. I also had the KAMRA inlay for reading and my reading has improved quite a bit when my eyes are tired or the light is not bright enough I do need a cheater but each day it seems I need them less and less. I am very happy with my experience and would recommend my friends and relatives!

Our Top Services

Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are clouded eye lenses that cause blurry, hazy, or discolored vision. Our surgeons can diagnose and treat cataracts using the latest surgical techniques. During cataract surgery, Dr. Sheth will remove your eye's natural lens and replace it with an intraocular lens (IOL) to restore your vision. He will help you choose an IOL that meets your long-term vision goals. After cataract surgery, many of our patients are able to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses.

LASIK

LASIK (or Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the most popular refractive surgeries available to patients suffering from myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and other refractive errors. Each LASIK procedure is customized by our surgeons to meet the patient's unique needs and vision goals. During LASIK surgery, Dr. Sheth will use a special laser to reshape the surface of the cornea. LASIK has a very low risk of side effects, and most patients can see clearly almost immediately after surgery.

Corneal Cross-Linking

A weak or misshapen cornea can distort your vision and make it impossible to wear corrective contact lenses. Dr. Sheth offer's corneal cross-linking, which can strengthen the cornea and improve your vision without surgery. During the procedure, one of our doctors will use a combination of liquid riboflavin and UV-A light to increase the number of special bonds between the collagen fibers of your cornea. The process effectively restores the strength and integrity of the cornea without the need for a corneal transplant.

Kamra inlay

Kamra Inlay

The AcuFocus KAMRA is a type of corneal inlay that is specially designed to address presbyopia (age-related vision loss). Placing the KAMRA inlay only takes about 15 minutes, and the procedure is performed using a special femtosecond laser. The KAMRA inlay offers several benefits for presbyopic patients, including a full range of vision, excellent surgical outcomes, and an impressive safety profile. A study performed by the manufacturer also showed outstanding long-term performance.

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is a serious condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. Because glaucoma can exist without any symptoms, it is often referred to as the "silent thief of sight." Early detection is key to successful glaucoma treatment. During your glaucoma evaluation, Dr. Sheth will conduct a number of tests to measure the pressure inside of the eye. If you are diagnosed with glaucoma, we offer several treatments to manage your condition and prevent vision loss.

Red eye

Dry Eye Treatment - IPL Laser

Dry eye is a common condition that can make your day-to-day life very uncomfortable. At our Stoneham, Woburn, and Somerville offices, we can determine the cause of your dry eyes and prescribe an effective treatment to improve the quality or quantity of your tears. We are one of the few practices that offers intense pulsed light (IPL) laser treatment for dry eyes. Using laser technology, we can address inflammation and remove clogs that could be affecting tear production.

Pterygium

Our surgeons can also perform treatment for corneal conditions, including pterygium and scars. Pterygia are growths on the conjunctiva, the mucous that covers the surface of the eye. In addition to redness and irritation, a pterygium can cause blurry vision if it covers your cornea. We offer many types of treatments, including medication and surgery. If medication fails to provide relief from your pterygium, our doctors can perform surgery to remove the pterygium, eliminating discomfort and restoring your vision.

Patient receiving BOTOX injections

BOTOX Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a cosmetic procedure that can address facial wrinkles and fine lines with simple injections. Having served the vision needs of patients for over 50 years, our Stoneham and Woburn doctors have a unique understanding of facial anatomy. We can safely and efficiently administer BOTOX Cosmetic to help patients address signs of aging without plastic surgery. BOTOX has an extremely low risk of side effects, and the results can last between three and four months.

I just had my 10 year check up after my Lasik surgery by Dr Sheth and my vision is still an amazing 20/15. Not needing contacts when I see other people put contacts in and take them out every day is incredible. Tough to put a price on vision, but it has more than paid for itself. I would certainly recommend his office to anybody considering improving their vision. Lasik is one of the many options they have available to improve your vision so if you think you are not a candidate, but don’t know for sure go in for a consult with Dr Sheth and he will let you know if he can help you. Most likely he will be able to and you will like your new world through your new eyes.

The Destination for Laser Vision Correction

In addition to regular eye exams, many patients come to Sheth Horsley Eye Center for laser vision correction.

We offer many advanced techniques to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, including:

  • Traditional LASIK: After numbing the eye and administering a mild sedative, one of our doctors will use a special blade to create a corneal flap and expose the inner layers of the cornea. He will then reshape the cornea with a special excimer laser before closing the flap again.
  • Blade-Free LASIK: Blade-free LASIK is very similar to traditional LASIK surgery except that there is no blade required to create the corneal flap. Instead, our surgeons will use a femtosecond laser to create the flap, reducing the already low risk of negative side effects from LASIK surgery.
  • Photorefractive Keratotomy: Photorefractive keratotomy (PRK) is an alternative to LASIK eye surgery. Like LASIK surgery, PRK can safely and effectively address nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. However, with PRK, there is no need for a corneal flap. Instead, our doctors will use a special instrument to abrase the cornea and reach the inner layers.
